Allegra is an antihistamine that reduces the natural
chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce
symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny
nose.
Allegra is used to treat the symptoms of seasonal
allergies in adults and children.
Allegra is also used to treat skin itching and hives
caused by a condition called chronic idiopathic urticaria
in adults and children.
Allegra Dosage
*The recommended dose for Adults and children 12
years or older is 60 mg twice daily or 180 mg once
daily.
*Children 6-11 years of age should be given 30 mg
twice daily.
*For chronic urticaria, adults and children 12 years
or older should use 60 mg twice daily, and children
6-11 years of age should use 30 mg twice daily. Fexofenadine
can be taken with or without food.
